Types of Spindle

Here are several types of spindles that we make and some of them are listed below:

Drilling spindles

These are used for drilling purposes and offer superior thrust capability, durability and robust design. Our belt-driven spindles offer customized drilling capacity at high frequency. These are made as per application-specific requirements and comes in round body, cartridge or block housing shapes. These are one of the most economical spindle types available for as they don’t house an integrated motor. They are versatile enough to meet range pertaining to speed, torque and power.

Grinding spindles

Evident by the name these are made for grinding purposes. Grinding is an important part of ensuring accuracy and maintaining quality. Once an item is heat-treated, it becomes difficult to modify the shape of that item as the carbon in the semi-finished product hardens the metal. Rather than going for another round of heat treatment which involves hours of job work, a grinding spindle is used to grind-off excess material and shape it into a finished product.

Turning Spindles

These are used for creating even shaped cylindrical parts on the outer side of the product.

Boring Spindles

It becomes a big problem when the hole drilled in a cast doesn’t match up with the other part. The primary reason for such failures is inaccuracy in the dimensions due to blind holes. For that, a simple drill bit may not work. To fine-tune the product to the last micron for a hand-in-glove fit, a boring spindle is used.

Custom/Special Purpose Milling Spindles

A spindle used in an auto part is different than a spindle used in an aircraft engine.
