Plug Gauges:
Generally, it is a cylindrical shaped inspection tool used to check the test product’s specifications. There are 2 types of plug gauges that are most common. One is a fixed limit plug gauge and other one is a go/nogo plug gauge.
- Fixed limit plug gauge: It is used to check the depth and uniformity of a hole. It is made with specific dimensions as per user requirement.
- Go Nogo Plug Gauge: There are two ends with specified limits. One end is of lower dimensions and the other has lesser dimensions thus the term Go and NoGo is used.

Ring Gauges:
A ring gauge is an industrial component used for checking the diameter of a cylindrical unit. It is generally made of a thermally stable material such as steel. Usage of ring gauges include checking, calibrating or setting of gauges. These are manufactured under different grades. The higher the grade, the lesser is the difference in output allowed. These are also made in go nogo specifications.
Control Gauges:
A control gauge is a device made of metal which is used for measuring, checking, testing and registering made specifically for measuring dimensions, quantity and mechanical accuracy of the device. These quality-checked finished products are then used in whichever final products.
Master Gauges:
Everything that’s made in the mechanical world needs inspection and so do gauges. Master Gauges are generally used to measure accuracy and uniformity of gauges. Basically, these ones are used to set other types of gauges to perform right.
